OBECA provides support to Senior Animals in Need Today Society ( SAINTS) in its Participatory Action Research (PAR) Project.
At various shelters throughout B.C., dedicated staff and volunteers work tirelessly to find a place for medically challenged and senior animals. Because of their infirmities and physical challenges, many of these animals have very little chance of finding a new home. SAINT exists to help these special needs animals when all else fails. While at SAINTS, they are given a chance to be loved, cherished, and provided with proper medical care for the rest of their days. SAINTS believes all animals deserve to have hope for a better tomorrow. To read more about SAINTS, please follow this link: http://www.saintsrescue.ca
Many nonprofit organizations, such as SAINTS, face a number of challenges ranging from budget shortfalls to effective leadership succession. These realities can create additional problems for staff and volunteers who struggle to maintain continuity of services and a commitment to fulfilling a nonprofit’s mission and vision. They contribute to work-life balance issues, exhaustion, disillusionment, and burnout which all have for an impact on the animals in SAINTS’ care.
Taking a proactive stance toward the types of challenges that face many nonprofits, SAINTS is initiating a Participatory Action Research (PAR) project designed to empower SAINTS stakeholders and constituents.
This project entails:
documenting the foundation, development, and institutionalization of SAINTS into what it is today
celebrating who makes up SAINTS and what SAINTS has become and has come to represent for those who contribute to and benefit from its mission
determining how to best ensure the continuation and maintenance of SAINTS’ vision and mission for future generations of animals
